“Hongsa Power Advances Sustainable Wildfire Prevention, Partnering with Local Leaders and Communities to Safeguard Public Safety”
On 26 March 2026, Hongsa Power Company Limited, through its Social Development Department under Corporate Affairs, in collaboration with the Safety Department under Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ), the Firefighting Unit, and the rescue team from Antifire Co., Ltd., organized a “Wildfire Prevention Training”. The initiative aimed to enhance knowledge, understanding, and preparedness in responding to wildfire situations for the committees responsible for the protection of the 500 kV transmission line, as well as community leaders from Hongsa, Ngeun, and Chianghon districts.
The training was held at the Chianghon District Office, where Mr. Khomphet Kaewphila, Community Relations Manager, served as the key speaker, delivering practical knowledge and sharing real-life experiences in wildfire surveillance and prevention in high-risk areas. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Somboun Xayvud, Deputy Head of the District Administration and Economic Steering Committee of Chianghon, who presided over the ceremony.
Beyond technical knowledge on wildfire prevention and suppression, the session emphasized the vital role of local communities as the “first line of defense” in monitoring, early warning, and mitigating risks that could impact lives, property, and the environment along the transmission line corridor.
Hongsa Power places the highest priority on the safety and well-being of communities in its operational areas. The company hopes this training will serve as a significant step in strengthening collaboration among the public sector, private sector, and local communities—working together to protect natural resources and ensure long-term safety and resilience for every household.
