“Hongsa Power Partners with Ngeun Community to Plant Forests and Build a ‘Green Belt’ for Sustainability”

On August 21, 2025, Hongsa Power Company Limited, in collaboration with Ngeun District, reaffirmed its commitment to environmental and community stewardship by organizing a forest plantation activity to establish a “Green Belt” at the limestone quarry in Ngeun. This initiative aims to reduce and prevent operational impacts while reinforcing the company’s ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) principles.

This event marked a strong collaboration between Ngeun District and Hongsa Power, led by the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality Division (SHEQ) together with the HPC Volunteer Club.

More than 100 participants joined the event, including company executives, employees, government officials, and local residents of Ngeun. Together, they planted over 500 perennial trees in the limestone quarry concession area, creating a natural “green wall” to mitigate the mine’s operational impact while also fostering stronger relations between the company, government agencies, and surrounding communities.

Since 2013, Hongsa Power has continuously implemented reforestation and watershed conservation projects in collaboration with Ngeun communities and local authorities to increase forest cover and protect natural resources. To date, the company has successfully reforested over 144 hectares, all under the ISO 14001:2015 standard. This reflects the company’s determination to balance energy production with sustainable environmental conservation.

This tree planting initiative not only expands green spaces but also demonstrates Hongsa Power’s long-term vision of growing as an organization with deep responsibility toward both society and the environment, in line with its commitment to sustainable development.
